Laundry Assistant

Help our kitchen a whole lot in a small amount of time!

Clean linens are essential to food safety and daily operations. And it is the Laundry Assistant that helps maintain a smooth running kitchen and pantry by keeping our towels, aprons, and materials clean and ready for the week!

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys independent, low-pressure tasks and wants to make a very meaningful contribution behind the scenes.

The schedule and work location are flexible. Laundering can often be done off-site based on availability and preference. Volunteers have the freedom to choose a schedule that best fits their needs and may select their preferred laundry location.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and drop off laundry loads at the kitchen — usually two to three loads each shift.
  • Safely wash and dry laundry at volunteer's choice of personal machines or a local laundromat. We provide quarters, soap, and other necessities to cover all laundromat expenses.
  • Communicate with the kitchen manager and staff to advise when supplies are low and to coordinate a laundry schedule that is consistent and effective.
