Volunteer From Home

Yes, there are things you can do to help us while staying home. When circumstances keep you at home while you'd like to contribute to your community, you can volunteer to help in our mission of providing nutritious food at no cost to our clients, many of whom are working poor, farmworkers, elderly, disabled, and unsheltered members of our community.

Write Notes of Encouragement!

Monday through Friday, we serve a homemade and nutritious lunch from 12pm-1pm, and from 9-11:30am and 1-3pm we provide supplemental groceries for individuals and their families.

We strive to serve all of our guests with care and attention, and we would love to be able to add to our lunch giveaways some notes of encouragement to brighten our guests' day. These could be simple hand-written notes, and do not need to be anything too complicated; we are simply seeking short notes that could contain messages such as "We hope you have a great day today!" or "You are loved," quotes, poems, or drawings!

We see about 90-120 guests every day for lunch, so we would love to gather as many of these letters as possible. Feel free to get the kids involved! We have loved what we have seen in the past from children in our community who have contributed their artwork, including decorating paper lunch bags! Additionally, many of our clients are Spanish speakers, so bilingual notes would be a huge bonus to us!

Masks for Loaves and Fishes!

As an essential service, Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes has remained open since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We work hard every day to provide healthy and delicious food to our community which includes farmworkers and working poor individuals and their families, and individuals who are elderly, disabled, or unsheltered through our pantry and lunch programs, while trying to keep ourselves and our community as safe as possible.

We would like to be able to provide more masks to our volunteers and guests in need so as to mitigate the waste created by single-use masks. If you are able to volunteer from home to help provide these materials, they would be so greatly appreciated by our team and our clients!

Masks can be delivered to us at 150 2nd St Watsonville CA 95076. Thank you so much!
